For those of you who are already into fitness and want to get started on the fitness journey as an instructor the Level 3 Diploma in Gym instructing and personal training is the qualification for you.
Our specialist instructors will deliver the programme in a flexible and holistic style, so it fits around your operational commitments or your day to day job.
The role of a gym instructor and personal trainer is on the increase.
Extension of the Individual job prospects.
You can be employed as a:
Personal Trainer- Example, High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) who wish to be coached at different levels, i.e., Businesspeople, sports stars, and celebrities.
Residential- Example, working in a Gym as part of a team.
The qualification meets the needs of a range of fitness industry professionals who would like to gain a qualification that focuses on the client’s complete requirements. It is appropriate for those with some experience in teaching and training.
This could include individuals who are not currently teaching and training in the fitness sector but can meet the practice requirements outlined in the mandatory and optional units.
What experience do I need to be able to access this Qualification?
Prior to registration for the qualification, learners are required to:
- be accurately identified.
- be at least 18 years of age.
- be able to communicate effectively in English (reading, speaking, listening and writing).
How long will it take me to achieve this qualification?
It is delivered using a blended learning approach using our proven 3-phase approach:
Phase 1: Skills Translation and Business start-up presentation (in partnership with the Veterans Enterprise UK program).
Phase 2: Distance learning—completion of the workbooks and theory program.
Phase 3: Lesson Delivery: Practical training program delivered face-to-face or via video link.
The course is progressive and is a ‘training course’ like all other courses run by ATG.
We aim to produce the best that the industry wants to employ.

How is the qualification assessed?
Through a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates that the learner has met the required assessment criteria. Learners will be expected to apply and show evidence of both theoretical and practical knowledge in their portfolio. It can also be achieved via blended learning
