Level 3 Close Protection
BTEC Level 3 Certificate for Close Protection Operative within the Private Security Industry
Purpose and Aim of the Qualification: The Pearson BTEC Level 3 Certificate for Close Protection Operatives within the Private Security Industry is designed for learners who work in, or who want to work in the private security industry as a close protection operative.
It gives learners the opportunity to:
● develop knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to become a licensed close protection operative such as planning, preparing for a close protection operation including risk assessment.
a minumum of 18 days, In order to make the course as realistic as possible the hours you work will be long and varied.

To achieve the Level 3 Certificate for Close Protection Operatives within the Private Security Industry you will need to produce a portfolio of evidence and pass a number of written examinations.
The duration of the training is no less than 18 Days.
With Effect from 1st April 2022 the Close Protection course now has 7 Areas where the Learner must demonstrate an thorough understanding of the requirement of a CPO. This new Course layout has been developed as a result of feedback from industry professionals and the SIA.
Note: This is NOT a hostile Close Protection Operative training course.
When applying for your training you will be required to produce evidence that you have attained a recognised L3 first Aid at Work Certificate. You should present your valid first aid certificate to your training provider before you start your training. If you do not have a recognised first aid qualification this must be achieved prior to attending the CPO Training. This is in addition to the minimum 194 hours knowledge and practical skills training.
