From 1 October 2022 all Door Supervisor licence holders will need a first aid qualification and the new top-up training before they renew.
Purpose and Aim of the Qualification
The Pearson Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (Top up) is for existing Door Supervisors who wish to renew their licence.
The Security Industry Authority (SIA) has introduced a top up requirement for those applying to renew their Door Supervisor licence – anyone wishing to renew their licence from October 2021 must have achieved this qualification
The Pearson Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (Top up) is suitable for learners to:
● Develop up to date knowledge and skills required to continue to work effectively andsafely as a door supervisor● Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security
Industry
● Continue to work as a licenced door supervisor
● Achieve a licence to practise
● Achieve a nationally-recognised Level 2 qualification
This qualification is supported by the SIA, the regulator for the private security industry.
How long will it take me to achieve this qualification?
The course is run over 2 days
First Aid Training
When applying for the Door Supevisor (Top Up) course you will be required to produce evidence that you have attained a minimum of recognised
Level 3 Emergency First aid at Work
award.
You should present your valid first aid certificate to ATG before you start your training.
If you do not have a recognised Emergency first aid award we can arrange this for you.
This is in addition to the minimum 16 Guided learning hours knowledge and practical skills training.
