 Purpose and Aim of the Qualifications
The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training is aimed at learners aged 19+ and has been designed to prepare trainee teachers to teach in a wide range of contexts. 

The qualification will meet the needs of a range of teachers and trainee teachers who would like to gain a qualification which focuses on practical teaching. It will be appropriate for those with some experience of teaching and training. 

This could include individuals who are not currently teaching and training but who can meet the practice requirements outlined in the mandatory and optional units. It is also appropriate for individuals currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a teaching qualification.

How long will it take me to achieve this qualification?
The qualification has a minimum of 140 guided learning hours and learners must be able to evidence 30 hours of teaching practice. 

How is the qualification assessed?
Through a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates the learner has met the required assessment criteria. Learners will be expected to apply and show evidence of both theoretical and practical knowledge in their portfolio. It can also be achieved via blended learning

What next?
Learners successfully completing this qualification may wish to progress to further qualifications, such as:
• Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
