Purpose and Aim of the Qualification
This qualification is ideal for those already working, or preparing to work, within industry who wish to become a First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. Subjects covered include Incident Management, Casualty Head to Toe Survey, CPR, Minor Injuries, Major Illnesses, Head and Chest Injuries, Suspected Spinal Injuries, Burns and Scalds and Sudden Poisoning.
How long will it take me to achieve this qualification?
This qualification is typically achieved through a blended learning course with online training and 1 day practical in the classroom (note: this is a long day). Please consult your training center for further details.

The qualification is assessed via practical demonstration/assignment and oral questioning.
What next?
The qualification is valid for a period of 3 years, and, in order to re-qualify, learners must be assessed against all learning outcomes and assessment criteria within the qualification. The delivery time for re-qualification may be adjusted.

Purpose and Aim of the Qualification
This qualification is designed for those learners wishing for further training or to develop knowledge and/or skills in this subject area. It is recommended as training for first aiders in the workplace environment who have access to a defibrillator. Learners gaining this qualification will know that cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillation form an essential part of the chain of survival. The topics covered are regarded by Skills for Health as being important in maintaining good practice in the safe, prompt and effective administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillation.
How long will it take me to achieve this qualification?
This qualification, has a minimum contact time of 4 hours, which is typically delivered via a 1 day course.
How is the qualification
assessed?
Learners must undertake a practical assessment of their competence along with a short open response knowledge assessment, where learners are required to provide a short response to a prescribed series of questions.
What next?
In line with industry guidance, the qualification supports learners with the safe and effective use of an automated external defibrillation machine for a period of 1 year.

Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid 1 Day
This qualification is for learners wishing to become a paediatric first aider in the workplace with a responsibility for the welfare of infants and children. This qualification is
for learners already working or preparing to work in industry.
Learners gaining this qualification will know that first aid is the responsibility of everyone involved in the working environment. Topics within this course are regarded by the Early Years Foundation Stage as being important to maintaining good practice in the safe, prompt and effective treatment of injuries and ill health of infants and children who are under the care of trained personnel.
The qualification is valid for a period of 3 years, after which point learners will need to retake the course. It is recommended that learners refresh their knowledge annually.
This course is 12 hrs learning time, an online course will be completed before commencement of the course and all participants must pass the online course prior to attending the session
